Celebrating a year of employee memories

Tags:

Many things have changed in the past calendar year. We all have experienced unprecedented and challenging times around the world. But when times got tough, Ferrellgas and Blue Rhino employees stepped up to the plate.

As an essential business, and with many of our customers relying on our propane services, our employees pressed on with compassion to take care of our customers as they always have. Then, our team went above and beyond their responsibilities to help their communities.

To celebrate National Employee Appreciation Day, we’d like to give a special “thank you” to each member of our Ferrellgas family for the difference they’ve made. Here are just a few of the amazing moments from the last year:

March 2020

With so much uncertainty, our focus remained the same – deliver propane to those who needed it most. When there was a need to fuel COVID-19 outdoor testing sites in multiple cities nationwide, we put the pieces together to make it happen.

April 2020

After a tornado struck Jonesboro, Arkansas, our local office stepped up to help provide meals to those in need. In Negaunee, Michigan, and Ashland, Wisconsin, our offices took part in the popular social media campaign #AWorldOfHearts that swept our nation, providing hope in the midst of the pandemic.

May 2020

While many relied on propane more than ever, there was another major need nationwide – toilet paper. Steve, a Driver in Warrensburg, New York, provided toilet paper to a customer during the unique shortage.

June 2020

Entering the fourth month of the pandemic, communities and restaurants needed help. For this reason, Operation BBQ Relief supported those in need by cooking hot BBQ meals in closed restaurants. The local Ferrellgas teams stepped up by donating propane in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

July 2020

Our Colorado team helped the Steamboat Springs Fire Department with a propane donation for a safety training session. Additionally, our first Management Development Program class conducted community service projects in the Kansas City area.

August 2020

In response to the Iowa Derecho, our Ferrellgas team volunteered with Operation BBQ Relief as they served their 8 millionth hot BBQ meal. And when Hurricane Laura hit Lake Charles, Louisiana, our team helped deliver the Blue Rhino propane to power their smokers.

September 2020

Our Mobile, Alabama, employees worked long hours after Hurricane Sally hit the area. James was touted for offering “great service” to a customer.

October 2020

Alex, a driver in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, made quite the impression on library employees, as he left a note, thanking the library for staying open during the pandemic. They posted the note to social media to let us know about it.

November 2020

As the temperatures turned cold, restaurants, wineries, and breweries alike were racing for a new hot commodity – propane. We set up new customer Left Foot Charley, a winery in Traverse City, Michigan, and began delivering propane tanks right away to fuel outdoor dining. Meanwhile, as part of our annual Share The Warmth campaign, our Kansas City, Missouri, team was able to donate more than 1,000 coats to a local charity.

December 2020

Brittney, a Customer Service Specialist in Chillicothe, Missouri, helped collect and donate winter weather clothing to her local community center. On Christmas Eve, Derek, a District Manager in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, made a crucial propane delivery to make a customer’s Christmas a comfortable one.

January 2021

In the new year and in the middle of winter, our teams worked diligently to take care of each of our customers. Special thank you to our Drivers and Customer Service Specialists – the true faces and voices of Ferrellgas!

February 2021

In a stretch of unprecedented frigid temperatures, our employees grinded through the difficult conditions and delivered for our customers. We truly have the best customers. Our Driver in Iowa City, Paul, has a longtime relationship with one of his customers. This month, they left him a special gift!

So, what’s next?
