Powering Good Times

Think of a warm summer day. Kids are playing in the yard. Friends and family are relaxing around the patio, chatting, and enjoying cold drinks. The grill is sizzling as a tasty meal is cooking, giving off smoky aromas. Nearby, the pool is warm and ready for an after-dinner dip.

Then think of a cold winter day. Outside, it’s snowing, and the wind is blowing. But inside, it’s warm and cozy. A fire is crackling in the fireplace. Everybody is watching the flames dance and enjoying a hot cup of cocoa. In the kitchen, cookies are baking in the oven.

Good times all around – and one fuel makes all of this possible: propane.

When it comes to entertaining and enjoying life, the possibilities with propane are almost endless:

  • Grill Masters and Outdoor Chefs Unite: Propane-powered outdoor kitchens have always made it easy to gather friends and family around the grill. Instant heat and precise control and a variety of propane cooking appliances like grills, griddles, smokers, and turkey fryers mean you’re always ready to serve up something delicious.

  • Cozy Fireplace Moments: There’s nothing like the warmth of a propane-powered fireplace to bring everyone together. It’s the perfect centerpiece for those chilly evenings, offering both comfort and ambiance as you relax with loved ones.

  • Poolside Parties and Hot Tub Hangouts: Propane-powered pool heaters and hot tubs turn your backyard into the ultimate relaxation and entertainment zone. Whether you’re hosting a pool party or enjoying a quiet evening soak, propane keeps the fun going all year long.

  • Backyard Fire Pits: Propane-powered fire pits transform your backyard into a cozy gathering spot for s'mores, storytelling, or just enjoying the night sky. It’s the perfect way to entertain friends and family while staying warm and connected.

  • Propane-Powered Patio Heaters: Keep the outdoor fun going year-round with propane patio heaters. Whether it’s a cool summer night or a crisp fall evening, these heaters let you enjoy your outdoor space without the chill, making every gathering comfortable and inviting.

  • Home Brewing Systems: Propane can power brewing systems, making the process of crafting your own beer not only fun but efficient. It’s a great way to add a personal touch to your next party or gathering.

  • Camping and Road-Trips: Propane is also there for those who wander. Whether you love to camp or you enjoy a journey in an RV, propane can make it all more enjoyable, fueling camp equipment like stoves or grills and even certain features of the RV itself.

National Propane Day

October 7th is National Propane Day. It’s the day when people across the United States recognize propane, a clean, safe, affordable, and reliable fuel, but in truth, every day is propane day. About 12 million American homes use the fuel regularly. In those homes, you’ll find propane powering a wide variety of appliances, including grills, fire pits, dryers, and pool heaters to fireplaces, furnaces, stoves, and water heaters. You’ll also find propane being used as a fuel source away from home for fun activities like tailgating and camping.

In short, if you find good times, you’ll probably find propane there, too.

Propane is also a fuel of choice when America goes to work. Businesses, farms, and more turn to propane to keep factories running, transport people or goods, make workers comfortable, and ensure that crops or animals stay warm and dry – and much, more.

It all started in the nineteenth century when propane was first discovered by chemists. Then, in 1910, another chemist named Walter Snelling noted the presence of propane in crude oil.

Snelling’s discovery helped launch propane’s potential as a fuel source for today because the colorless, odorless gas is easily liquefied. That makes it an energy that can be easily transported to wherever it is needed, thanks to propane companies like Ferrellgas.

As one of America’s leading propane logistics companies, Ferrellgas offers customers across the country easy propane service on their terms. Whatever their propane needs, customers can choose from a variety of service options and payment plans to get the propane they need when they need it. As for those people who need a smaller 20 lb. propane tank to fuel their grills, fire pits, patio heaters, or turkey fryers, Blue Rhino propane exchange is available at 65,000 retail stores nationwide.

With all that convenience, it’s no wonder that propane is a staple of both the American and the world energy landscape – and a fuel that can help people make the most of time spent with friends and family indoors and out.
