Showing Our Support for Operation Warm

Ferrellgas is proud to once again partner with Operation Warm. As one of the nation’s leading propane provider, supporting Operation Warm is a natural fit for us. We keep our customers warm by delivering propane to their homes and businesses, and Operation Warm provides new winter coats to children in need so they can stay warm, too.  

Operation Warm’s tagline is “more than a coat.” The organization believes that by providing new coats to children, it boosts their confidence and improves interactions with their peers. Many of the children who are helped by Operation Warm have never had a new coat, or any new item of clothing at all. Having something brand new, and all their own, gives those children a sense of pride. They’re warm enough to go outside at recess. They get to choose a coat that fits well and has a color they love. It makes them feel confident, strong, and gives them a sense of belonging. So yes – for these children, a new coat is worth its weight in gold.  

Recently, two dozen Ferrellgas employee-owners had the opportunity to participate in an Operation Warm coat give-away in the North Kansas City school district. Our volunteers helped distribute hundreds of coats to children at Crestview Elementary. “Heartwarming,” “rewarding,” and “incredible,” were just some of the words our employees used to describe this important volunteer opportunity. It fills our hearts with joy to know we played a small role in helping these children stay safe and warm this winter. We were honored when the school district presented us with an award for our efforts! It’s something we’ll continue to be proud of for years to come.

As part of the Ferrellgas Century Project, our company aims to make the world a better place ahead of its 100th anniversary. Giving back to the communities where we live, and work, is part of our company culture. We’re proud to be a part of such an important charitable partnership and we look forward to supporting Operation Warm in the future!
