Thanks, Bill, for going the extra mile
It may not seem like much at the time — bringing up the newspaper, a few extra nights of volunteering, getting a delivery done professionally — but doing even a little extra can make a big difference.

People like Bill, who pitch in and go the extra mile:
Bill’s large service territory stretches into North Carolina. That’s precisely where he was when he happened upon a retired couple who had a flat tire.
“A well-dressed man in a gray Ford pickup stopped to help my husband and I change the tire on the side of the road,” said Brenda H. of Windsor, North Carolina.
“Our spare tire was flat and he drove us to Windsor to get air put in the tire. (Bill) paid for the plug and brought us all the way back to our car and changed the tire. It was so nice to know that there are really good people out there willing to help someone trapped on the side of a busy road. He went out of his way to make sure we were OK and comfortable.”
A loving husband and father of six, Bill joined Ferrellgas three years ago after a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a First Sergeant, Fuels Superintendent, and Drill Instructor.
Bill struck us from day one as someone who wouldn’t hesitate to go the extra mile for his employees, customers, and members of the communities he serves. His recent selfless act more than reinforced that belief.
“I have always loved being part of an organization that never settles for mediocrity and always wants to be the best,” he said. “I was part of the best military in the world and now part of the best propane company in the business.”
As Director of Operations for Ferrellgas’ Richmond, Virginia, Service Center, Bill Weist has a big job. That’s because Bill and his capable, service-focused staff deliver propane to hundreds of homes, businesses, and farms scattered throughout the area.
