The Perks of Propane Delivery

AUTHOR: Ferrellgas

Long-time residents of propane-powered homes know the ease and flexibility of propane delivery services well, but if you’re new to it, you may have questions about your options. While each provider may offer service packages with varying perks, you can usually count on them offering a choice where you request deliveries as needed, as well as and automatic-delivery services. Let’s explore the options Ferrellgas offers, as well as they key benefits, to determine which is right for you.

“As Needed” Propane Delivery

With Ferrellgas’ Will Call service, you place an order when you are ready for us to fill your tank with propane. This option means you, the customer, are responsible for keeping track of your propane tank levels and contacting Ferrellgas when you need a refill. Will Call is often ideal for customers with lower or inconsistent propane usage, as they may not need regular deliveries.

At Ferrellgas, we strongly recommend our Will Call customers place their refill order when the fuel level in their tank reaches 30%, or no less than seven (7) business days before the date they anticipate needing propane. When it’s time to place an order, customers can call 888-337-3755, contact us online at MyFerrellgas.com, or chat with us to schedule a delivery. Once your order is placed, you’ll be given an approximate delivery time frame.

It’s important to note that if you place an order with less than seven (7) business days notice, or when your tank level is below 30%, we may not be able to meet your schedule needs. Or you may face additional delivery charges to expedite the order. This is especially important to keep in mind during certain weather conditions, when delivery timeframes may be longer than usual due to circumstances outside of our control. Automatic Propane Delivery

If monitoring your tank gauge and calling every time you need a refill isn’t convenient for you, automatic propane delivery may be the better option. With this delivery option, propane suppliers use a system that estimates their customers’ propane usage and automatically schedules deliveries. This ensures timely refills without lifting a finger, meaning you can cross one thing off your “to do” list.

At Ferrellgas, our automatic propane deliveries are part of our Auto Fill service level that comes with two options: Auto Fill and Auto Fill with Digital Tank Monitoring. Each of these services uses our state-of-the-art fuel technology to track your propane levels and schedule deliveries for you. It’s important to note that there are some qualifications customers must meet before enrolling in Auto Fill, including credit approval.

So, who is Auto Fill right for? Typically, a customer using Auto Fill with no tank monitor would have consistent propane usage. These customers usually have at least two appliances in their home and schedule about two fills per year. Customers who rely on Auto Fill with a tank monitor tend to use propane less consistently. For example, customers who have winter homes in the mountains love this option because it gives them ability to check their tank levels even if they’re not there. They also have peace of mind knowing that Ferrellgas will deliver gas when they need it without having to call to schedule a fill. It’s important to note that a strong cellular signal is needed to use a tank monitor, so the service may not be available in all areas.
